UI Package Gets Final Approvals

The House and Senate on Wednesday gave final passage to a package of bills aimed at paying off the state's $3.2 billion in unemployment insurance (UI) debt to the federal government while shoring up the entire UI system to prevent, what Republicans say, is fraud.
Senate's Film Credit Bill Rolls; House Road Commission Bills Blow A Tire ======================================
The deal of the day in the Legislature worked out for Senate Majority Leader Randy RICHARDVILLE (R-Monroe), who got from the House his legislation that approves a new film incentive structure.
Jobless Rate Down To 9.8%, 19,000 Leave Labor Market ======================================
Michigan's unemployment rate hit a three-year-low of 9.8 percent in November, but the change came as 19,000 potential workers left the labor marketplace.
Charter Cap Finally Passes House
======================================
House Republicans Wednesday did what several other caucuses have failed to do: Lift the 150-school cap on university-backed charter schools.
