The 11th Annual "Taste in Fenton" event, sponsored by the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2011 from 12 pm - 8 pm at the Fenton Community & Cultural Center. Presenting sponsors this year are The State Bank and VG's Food & Pharmacy.

This event showcases local restaurants from the Fenton region and Genesee County and provides guests with a chance to sample delicious foods and experience a "total culinary experience" in downtown Fenton. Attendees will also have the opportunity to listen to live music by "Too Much Fun" and  "Mike Espee Blues".

This year the event will be held rain or shine on the grounds behind the Fenton Community & Cultural Center in downtown Fenton. In the event of bad weather, the event will be moved inside the Community Center. Also held the same weekend is the Fenton Kiwanis "Art at the Center" art festival on the grounds in front of the Fenton Community & Cultural Center (weather permitting).

Back by popular demand, this year includes a Chair Auction ('hand painted" decorative chairs by local artist), and a Kids Zone with inflatable's and childrens games. The Fenton Fire department will also be hosting a 5K & 10K race the same day.  New this year, a nine hole putt putt golf course and live demonstrations from the Lake Fenton High School Robotics Team.

"This event gives area residents an opportunity to taste foods from numerous restaurants in our area in one venue", says Shelly Day, President of the Fenton Regional Chamber of Commerce. "This event draws over 4,000 people and we expect to have a great a turnout this year, especially in light of gas prices and people looking for events to attend closer to home", she added.
